"91st Maui Fair Food Booth Concessions Meeting
June 5, 2013 - Carla Tracy
I love the Maui Fair and all of the aromas and tastes involved. I especially enjoy judging the Chili Cookoff that pits Maui firemen against top resort chefs.
It takes a whole lot of community-minded nonprofit groups to put all of the food together. In fact, a mandatory meeting for all invited food concessionaires will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Alexa Higashi Meeting room.
“Rules and regulations will be discussed by the Maui Fire Department, State Health Department officials, Hawaii Gas and Wasa Electric Co. regarding electrical needs. Food concession contracts will be distributed at this meeting,” says Fair Director Sherri Grimes.
For more information about the food concessions, call Ryan Shibano at 357-0399.
The 2013 Maui Fair theme is "A Timeless Tradition.” The party commences Thursday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 6 at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku.
“The Fair gives the entire community the opportunity to come together to enjoy an alcohol-free, smoke-free, and drug-free family-oriented educational event that has plenty of entertainment, delicious local food, and lots of fun!” says Grimes.
“The Maui Fair is a nonprofit organization supported entirely by corporate sponsorship, local donations, and volunteers. More importantly, the Fair is also the primary source of funding for many of Maui's nonprofit and community organizations.”
