Maui High's Karaviotis named to Perfect Game West Region first team

April 16, 2013 - Robert Collias
University of Oregon signee Mark Karaviotis of Maui High School has been named to the prestigious Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason West Region All High School Senior 1st Team, one of 50 players from the 13-state West Region to be so honored.

Karaviotis helped the Sabers compete for the MIL regular-season title on the final day of the season before they eventually fell to Baldwin. Still, the Sabers are a state tournament contender and could come back to steal the MIL pennant through the league tournament and playoff route.

Karaviotis committed to the Ducks, currently ranked 10th in the nation and leading the Pac-12 Conference with a 12-3 record, in October and signed with them in November.

Here is his youtube video from the Perfect Game camp last June.

In this story by Jeff Dahn on the Perfect Game website, Karaviotis is the No. 4 high school prospect in the state and 407th nationally. Two scouts were here for the Friday game linked above, so Karaviotis looks like a lock to be drafted in June.
