Final spring for Kamalani at Oregon begins this morning

April 2, 2013 - Robert Collias
Kamehameha Schools Maui graduate Keloni Kamalani starts his final spring as a University of Oregon linebacker when the Ducks hold the first of 15 practices today.

Last year in his first season on scholarship, Kamalani once again battled shoulder injuries that have plagued him since high school and limited him to one game.

Rob Moseley of The Register-Guard newspaper in Eugene has Kamalani listed at No. 2 at the SAM, or strong side, spot. Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian lists him fourth on the depth chart, although the No. 2 player on that list has since retired for medical reasons.

From my experiences with Kamalani, it would be a mistake to count him out of making a large contribution for the Ducks this season.

Kamalani also appears to have opened a small pipeline from Maui to Eugene.

If you're so inclined, here is a link with live updates from practice.
