Lunas, Golden Hawks on field
November 17, 2012 - Robert Collias
HALFTIME UPDATE: Lunas lead 14-0 after outgaining the Golden Hawks 212 yards to 35 in the first half.
The last time the Lahainaluna High School football team was at Aloha Stadium, the Lunas showed up late for the Division II state championship game that it lost to Iolani in 2007. After dressing in the stadium tunnel and kicking off 19 minutes late, they bounced out to a 14-0 lead, but lost 28-21.
Now, they are a win away from getting back there as they were they first team in sight on Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium. The Lunas and Golden Hawks of Nanakuli are about 20 minutes from kicking off.
A win tonight sends the Lunas to the state championship again.
These two teams bring similar stories to the field tonight.
Tight flight time for me tonight, so I will update here if I can. Read our twitter page for quarter updates or the game is on OC Sports (channel 12).
