| | Lunas officially announced as No. 2 seed in D-IINovember 3, 2012 - Robert ColliasIt didn't become official until it was announced during the waning moments of the Nanakuli-Radford snoozefest (0-0 midway through third quarter, eventually, mercifully won 21-6 by Radford) that passed as the OIA White Division (II) championship game, but Lahainaluna is the No. 2 seed in the Chevron/HHSAA state tournament, something we knew on Monday. A couple of twists were thrown their way, however. The Lunas will open as the higher seed against the Nanakuli-Konawaena winner, but the game will be at Aloha Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 17, when and where both semifinals in D-II will be played. No. 1 seed and five-time defending D-II state champion Iolani will also play on Nov. 17 at Aloha Stadium as part of a semifinal doubleheader — the Lunas game is most likely a 4 p.m. start, Iolani to follow at 7, but I have not been able to confirm that yet, though it makes by far the most sense. The D-I semifinal doubleheader will be on Friday, Nov. 16, at Aloha Stadium (info on Baldwin in the link above). Here is how the D-II bracket looks, without specific times: DIVISION II QUARTERFINALS Nov. 9 Nanakuli at No. 3 Konawaena Radford at No. 4 Kauai Semifinals Nov. 17 At Aloha Stadium Nanakuli-Konawaena winner vs. No. 2 Lahainaluna Radford-Kauai winner vs. No. 1 Iolani Final Nov. 23 At Aloha Stadium Semifinal winners With Kahuku leading 29-0 over Mililani in the OIA D-I final, it is probably safe to say that the top-tier event will look like this: QUARTERFINALS Nov. 9 No. 3 Baldwin vs. Mililani at War Memorial Stadium, 7 p.m. Leilehua-Farrington winner (game Saturday) at No. 4 Kealakehe Semifinals Nov. 16 At Aloha Stadium Baldwin-Mililani winner vs. No. 2 Punahou Leilehua-Farrington-Kealakehe winner vs. No. 1 Kahuku Nov. 23 At Aloha Stadium Semifinal winners Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
