| | Higa gets permanent AD gig at King KekaulikeOctober 16, 2012 - Robert ColliasP.K. Higa just texted me a few minutes ago, confirming that he has been named the permanent athletic director for King Kekaulike High School. Higa had two stints as football coach for Na Alii, the last one ending last season, and has also served as an interim vice principal for the school. He had been working this year as the interim AD. Higa is a solid addition to the MIL AD ranks, joining newcomers Hoku Haliniak at Molokai, and Kawika Casco at Maui Prep. There will also be — or are — openings at Kamehameha Maui, St. Anthony, and Seabury Hall. Kanani Souza, the former football coach at Kamehameha Kapalama, is the interim AD at Kamehameha Maui until Decmeber, when a permanent replacement for Kurt Ginoza will be named. Ginoza stepped down as KSM's original AD last month. The face of the MIL AD ranks is changing rapidly and Higa and Casco, the former Lahainaluna and University of Utah football standout, definitely bring solid credentials to their new jobs.
