NFL Network coming to cable TV on Maui
September 21, 2012 - Robert Collias
This is really good news for football fans who want more games to watch — this just landed in our in-box and this story was put together by sp[orts editor Brad Sherman for tomorrow's paper (consider this a free preview):
Time Warner Cable agreed Friday to carry the NFL Network.
According to Oceanic president Bob Barlow, the channel will be live in Hawaii in time for this Sunday’s games.
Digital cable subscribers will have the NFL Network as part of their lineup. It will be channel 203, and the HD version will be on 1203.
Subscribers to “The Sports Pass” (whch currently includes ESPN Classic, the NHL Network, Fuel, NBA TV, the Tennis Channel, Fox Sports, the CBS Sports Network and the Big Ten Network, according to oceanic.com) will also get the NFL RedZone channel. It will be channel 204, and the HD version will be on 1204.
Subscribers to analog cable — the most basic level — will see no change.
If a rate increase were to occur, it would typically take place in March, Barlow said.
NFL Network began airing regular-season games in 2006. This year, the channel will have 13 games, primarily on Thursdays.
