July 20, 2012 - Carla Tracy
I just heard word that the “Godfather of Hawaiian Cuisine,” Sam Choy, will begin to roam the streets of Los Angeles on his Pineapple Express rolling luau food truck.
Starting this Sunday, the truck will dish up Hawaiian wannabes with their first taste of Choy’s celebrated Hawaiian heritage fare.
“Pineapple Express will make its first official appearance stationed outside of Santa Monica’s SHOREbar on Sunday at 6 p.m., offering guests a chance to experience the Island-inspired menu with dishes including Poke Parfait, Sam’s Original Kalua Pork Sandwich, “More Hula For Your Moolah” Wraps, and more,” says publicist Joey Kotick.
“Following the first ‘Rolling Luau’ celebration in Santa Monica, Pineapple Express will hit the coast, stopping at various locations throughout Los Angeles before making a special appearance at the Toyota Museum in Torrance on Thursday, July 26.The truck will host a special poke-making demonstration at the Museum beginning at 6 p.m as part of the Pacific Talent Academy of the Arts’ annual ‘Meet & Greet Hawaii’s Best’ event."
