Miyajima shoots 6 over, tied with Wie

Maui's Shayna Miyajima, the 1998 state champion for Baldwin High School, shot a 6-over 78 in the first round of the LPGA Lotte Championship at Ko Olina today, the same score as Michelle Wie.

Miyajima is currently tied for 115th and will probably need a 69 or 70 to make the cut today when she tees off this morning at 7:35 a.m. After starting with three pars, she had five bogeys in six holes for a 41 on the front nine, but settled down for a 37 on the back with her lone birdie, on the par-3 16th.
