On not saving Rep. Ryan
April 9, 2012 - Harry Eagar
You know, if cutting taxes on the rich led to prosperity, we'd be prosperous now.
Cutting another $4.6 TRILLION from the taxes of the rich would sort of make them welfare queens, but that's what Rep. Ryan's budget would do.
It's hard to say whether voters will fall for it. They fell for the Laffer Curve and supply-side economics, so they're dumb enough to buy anything. But newspapermen are laughing themselves silly over this bad joke. A couple of good, short takedowns, one from the Washington Post, one from the New York Times (via Columbia Journalism Review).
