| | Maui rallies for spot in AJA title gameApril 8, 2012 - Robert ColliasFirst of all, happy Easter or Passover to everyone observing. Once every four years, Maui hosts the Hawaii State AJA Baseball Tournament. It can be pretty exciting stuff, as we learned four years ago when Joey Tam Ho led Maui to a rare crown. The will play for the 2012 crown at 11:30 a.m. today. For any baseball fan — and I know there are a lot of y'all out there — this is a tournament steeped in history. BTW, the Oahu team Maui plays today is made up mostly of that island's champion, Waialae, which is the same nucleus Maui beat in 2008 for the crown here, breaking a string of 15 straight state titles for Oahu. Word is the Waialae boys are out for revenge, so it should be a fun day at the ballpark.
