Quietly, it's official: UH spring practice here April 21
March 20, 2012 - Robert Collias
There was no press release emailed out, no announcement from a local politician, just a short, simple piece on the University of Hawaii website.
What we reported here first, six weeks ago, is now official: A Warrior football spring practice will be held at War Memorial Stadium on April 21.
Here are the nuts and bolts from the UH website:
For the fourth consecutive year, the team will conduct a practice/scrimmage on a neighbor island. This year's event will take place at Maui's War Memorial Stadium, Saturday, April 21. The practice begins at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude with a short scrimmage followed by an autograph session. Admission is free.
A UH spokesman said he is not sure if the event will be a scrimmage format as it was four years ago when this was last done on Maui, but my guess is it will be with the Warrior Bowl spring game just six days later.
