Isagawa ties Oregon record with 65, finishes second
February 28, 2012 - Robert Collias
Oregon freshman Cassy Isagawa, the former Baldwin standout, continues to tear it up for the 20th-ranked Ducks women's golf team.
She fired a school-record-tying 7-under 65 Monday at the 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate to lead by six strokes going into today's final round, where she shot 76 to finish second by one stroke to Colorado's Alex Stewart.
Isagawa told the school's athletics website that her second "round was a complete blur to me."
Coach Ria Scott added, “What was the most impressive about Cassy’s performance today was that she shot 65 when the conditions weren’t perfect.”
Isagawa was ranked seventh in the nation by golfweek.com going into today's round.
Isagawa and the Ducks will be part of the Anuenue Spring Break Invitational March 26-27 at Kapalua, as will Oregon State and former Maui High standout Elyse Okada.
