| | Templeton named manager in YumaFebruary 11, 2012 - Robert ColliasWhile Na Koa Ikaika Maui is still without a manager, Garry Templeton, Maui's manager in the ill-fated 2011 season in the North American Baseball League, has been named the new manager of the Yuma Panthers. Don't know exactly what is going on, but the Yuma team last season featured Jose Canseco as a player-manager and was called the Scorpions. Na Koa is still looking for its fourth manager for its third season in the North American Baseball League after naming Brendan Sagara for a 26-day stint in December before he got a full-time gig in the Miami Marlins organization. Still also waiting for the NABL schedule to be announced, but things are moving along in Prescott, Ariz., and Abilene, Texas. The 2012 NABL season is scheduled to start in May. The 2011 season for Maui ended 27 games short of completion, much of it out of Na Koa's control, and the entire league's slate was cut short by a week due to financial concerns. Stay tuned, we'll keep up here with any news we hear.
