Wahine-Nebraska volleyball set for March 23 on Maui; UH football spring game here, too

February 4, 2012 - Robert Collias
Several sources have confirmed for me that the University of Hawaii women's volleyball team will play a spring match against Nebraska on March 23 at War Memorial Gym.

UH was set to play a spring football scrimmage the next day at War Memorial Stadium, but that has tentatively been moved back to April 11, which could make it the annual Green-White Game that culminates spring drills.

The school and Maui County have not released this information yet, so I have no word on tickets to either event, but sources from the county and elsewhere have let me know that both of these events are a solid go, with the date of football still somewhat in flux.

Entering the NCAA Volleyball Tournament, Hawaii (31-2) was ranked third in the AVCA poll and finished fifth in the final poll after being eliminated by USC in the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska (25-5) was ranked second in the final regular-season poll and finished 12th in the post-NCAA Tournament poll after being eliminated by Kansas State in the round of 32.

Much more on this breaking news as it develops.
