| | ScattershotDecember 15, 2011 - Harry EagarFrom the Ottawa Citizen: "Two top U.S. hurricane forecasters, famous across Deep South hurricane country, are quitting the practice of making a seasonal forecast in December because it doesn’t work. "William Gray and Phil Klotzbach say a look back shows their past 20 years of forecasts had no predictive value." Most years, they predicted between 6 and 13, and most years, there were between 6 and 13, more or less. The amazing thing is that reporters kept publicizing their silly papers, and I don't think it was because they thought they were silly, the way reporters publicize Mr. Blackwell's list of worst dressed men.
