Be crowned Banana Bread King or Queen

Want be crowned king or queen for a day? Here’s an entry form for all of you home cooks (see pdf file, attached). Not only will you be crowned, but you can win cash prizes.

All you have to do is bake banana bread or make pickled vegetables and bring it to Maui County Agricultural Festival April 2 at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu.

“We will have an area under the Grand Taste Education tent to accept entries from 9 to 11:30 a.m.,” says Charlene Ka‘uhane, publicist for the event. “Judging will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm. Finalists will be announced on stage from 2 to 2:30 p.m. We’re hoping everyone from Kahakuloa to Kipahulu will come in with their famous banana bread!”
